Nicholas L. Wulf, D.O. | Physician
Dr. Nick Wulf graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where he received a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Nutritional Science. He completed medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience, and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Creighton University.
He has been in Columbus since 2012. He has four children. His hobbies include spending time with his friends and family, enjoying the outdoors, and being active.
Kady A. Kiichler, M.D. | Physician
Dr. Kady Kiichler is a native of Omaha. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, as a recipient of a UNL Regents Scholarship. Dr. Kiichler attended Creighton University Medical Center where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Kiichler joined Columbus Women’s Healthcare in August of 2014. She is married to her husband Ryan, and they have three children. Dr. Kiichler and her family enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it be camping, hiking, sports or boating. They are also big Husker and Steeler fans.
Kara B. Weishaar, M.D. | Physician
Dr. Kara Weishaar is a native of Seward, NE. She completed her undergraduate studies at Concordia University, graduating with High Distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She then attended medical school at University of Nebraska Medical Center, receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Weishaar finished with her OB/GYN training at East Tennessee State University.
Dr. Weishaar joined Columbus Women’s Healthcare in September of 2023. She is married to her husband Joshua, and they have two sons and two dogs. Dr. Weishaar enjoys cooking, growing a vegetable garden, and traveling.
Heidi Abbott | Midwife
Heidi Abbott graduated from Frontier Nursing University in 2023 with her Master of Nursing degree as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Heidi is board-certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives and joined Columbus Women’s Health in 2024. Before becoming a Certified-Nurse Midwife, Heidi worked as a labor and delivery registered nurse at Columbus Community Hospital since 2015.
She is married to her husband, and they have two daughters and three dogs. She loves watching her kid’s sports, vintage furniture antiquing, traveling, and playing card games with friends and family. She is also a dedicated fan of Husker volleyball.
Heidi is excited to offer midwifery care to Columbus and surrounding areas and delivering at Columbus Community Hospital. The favorite part of her job is using the midwifery model of care to support women in achieving their desired birthing experiences. She is committed to advocating for all women to explore options that best meet their physical and emotional needs.
Heidi will start seeing patients on October 1st.
Meet Our Nurse Practitioners
Nurse Practitioners are midlevel providers with advanced education. They are unique in that they are trained in nursing along with diagnosis and management of common and some complex medical conditions. Nurse Practitioners can provide services ranging from annual exams, sports physicals, routine OB care, contraceptive management, menopause issues, treatment of illness and much more. Our skilled nurse practitioners have over 10 years of experience in women’s health nursing.
Jennifer A. Nekl, APRN | Nurse Pracitioner
Jennifer Nekl graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2009 with her Master of Nursing degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She joined Columbus Women’s Health in 2009. Prior to being a nurse practitioner, she worked at Columbus Community Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Maternal Child Health Unit. She grew up on a farm near Hooper, NE, and graduated from Logan View High School.
Jen enjoys spending time with her 4 children and their families (Jessica, Nick & Harper, Jarod & Olivia, Jenna, and Jordie). Her newest adventures include spending time with her granddaughter. She is looking forward to two more grandchildren in 2024. When she is not working you will find her attending Wayne State volleyball games, spending time with her grandchildren, and learning how to golf. She enjoys watching Husker volleyball, and spending time with family and friends. Her vacations include trips to National Parks or locations where she can enjoy the outdoors. What she loves most about her job is caring for the women of Columbus and surrounding communities by providing them education to empower their overall health.
Karla Coria, APRN | Nurse Practitioner
Karla Coria is a native of Columbus, NE. She completed her undergraduate studies at Nebraska Methodist College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then attended graduate school at Chamberlain University, receiving her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and holds a certification for basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. Karla Tambien habla Espanol.
Karla Coria joined Columbus Women’s Healthcare in August 2022. Karla has 3 kids and a Corgi named Lola. She enjoys playing soccer and running 5ks.
